Hi to all! I’m Craig Marshall, one of the creative designers here at Raw Creative. I joined the design team 4 years ago when the company was called Sinclair Mason. It was a PR, design and events company. The PR side of the company was then sold about 3 years ago. The design department split off and became Raw Creative, where I am today and is going from strength to strength. We have just recently moved offices into the centre of Leeds, it is a longer journey on a morning but I am really enjoying the location and the new building.
Previous to that I completed a Diploma in graphic design at Leeds College Of Art And Design and a degree in Visual communications at Leeds University. I found the courses, especially now invaluable. They covered a wide range of disciplines and I eventually specialized in advertising. It was an easy job for me picking the courses though as it is what
I have always wanted to do since primary school. I actually did my high school work experience at Sinclair Mason some 12 years ago.
I started my career working on brands such as Silentnight, Ashworth, Callaway and BT. After my first day in the real world I knew it was still for me. Every day is different and I never sit watching the clock like some of my friends.
My other passion is football playing up front for my local team on Saturday afternoon. A lot of my free time revolves around the football club whether it’s training or undoing the good work with many nights out or trips on tour to Dublin etc. We also have an annual Stars In Their Eyes event where most of the lads put in a lot of effort to make a fool of themselves in the name of fundraising. We also put on a panto the other Christmas selling out two nights, with a slightly out of the norm version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Where I played Frank ‘Charming’ Spencer the prince.
Other little things about me, I started learning the guitar last year but I am still not very good. I paint pictures on canvas and have started to sell them, mostly to my mates though. I like watching live bands, one of which includes Status Quo influenced by my Dad, which I get some stick about. I love Italian food, Peroni Lager and the odd cheesy night out.
Anyway, that’s my first blog done.
Cheers for now, Craig.
